Hotel Gift Making Memories Prize Draw - Terms and Conditions

Whereas

Eligible Participants have entered a Race for Life Event and elected to enter the ScottishPower promotion, the following terms shall apply.

  1. Promoter
    • This promotion is run by ScottishPower Energy Retail Limited, a company registered in Scotland (Company number SC190287, VAT number GB 659 3720 08), of 320 St. Vincent Street, Glasgow, G2 5AD (“ScottishPower”).
  2. Prize Draw
    1. The title of the promotion is the “Hotel Gift Making Memories Prize Draw”.
    2. Hotel Gift Make Memories Prize Draw is a prize draw that is free to enter for all Eligible Participants (see the eligibility criteria set out below at Clause 4).
    3. All Eligible Participants who choose to enter the Hotel Gift Make Memories Prize Draw will have the chance to win a gift voucher to the value of £1000 RRP (see Clause 3 below).
    4. All Eligible Participants may enter the competition multiple times. However, in the process of selection, only one valid email address per participant will be considered for the draw.
  3. The Prize
    1. The prize is a £1000 Hotel Gift gift voucher that can be used for hotel stays available on their website. They can’t be redeemed directly with the hotel.
    2. The Prize is only valid for 2 years from date of issue. The Prize is subject to all of Hotel Gift’ standard gift vouchers terms and conditions, please see 3.6.
    3. The Prize Winner will be notified by email that they have won. The gift voucher will be sent to the Winner via email. See Clause 7 for more information.
    4. The Prize is not negotiable or transferable. No cash or credit alternative will be available for the prize on offer.
    5. As per Hotel Gift’ gift voucher Terms and Conditions, If the Prize Winners’ booking costs more than the gift card value (£1000), the Prize Winner can pay the difference online. If the Prize Winner doesn’t use the full value, the remaining balance stays valid for future bookings. Bookings do not include additional services (e.g., breakfast, parking, or special requests) unless explicitly specified. However, you can arrange these services directly with the hotel after booking, if permitted by the hotel. Details on this are set out in Hotel Gift Voucher terms and conditions.

  4. How to Enter
    1. Entering at Race for Life events Eligible Participants can enter the Hotel Gift Make Memories Prize Draw by scanning the QR code from:
      1. Water bottles distributed at the event.
      2. A-frame signage at the site location.
      3. Lanyards worn by brand ambassadors
      Alternatively, they can enter by visiting www.scottishpower.co.uk/raceforlife on a mobile or electronic device, as announced at the event.
    2. Entering via social media, Eligible Participants can enter by clicking the competition link shared via:
      1. ScottishPower's Instagram and Facebook pages.
      2. Cancer Research UK’s (CRUK) Facebook, Instagram, and TikTok channels.
      3. Influencer promotional content posted on Facebook, Instagram, and TikTok channels.
    3. Eligible Participants can also enter through the emails, which contains a link to the competition landing page: www.scottishpower.co.uk/raceforlife

    4. Upon arriving at the competition landing page by any of the means described at Section

      5. 4.1-4.3 above, Eligible Participants [who submit their personal details requested on the page and accepts the Terms and Conditions of this competition] within the Entry Period, will be entered into the prize draw.

  5. Eligibility
    1. The Hotel Gift Make Memories Prize Draw is open to Eligible Participants and supporters of Race for Life 2025 events across the UK who:
      1. Have scanned the QR code, been directed from the URL link and clicked the ‘Enter now’ button between 23 March 2026 and 23:59 (GMT) on 12th July 2025 (the “Entry Period”).
      2. Are resident in the Great Britain; and
      3. Are 18 years or over; and
      4. Have provided us with their name and a valid email address and are not:
      5. Employees, members of family or any other associated persons of ScottishPower, the wider Iberdrola group, Race for Life, Cancer Research, or any an associated partner.
  6. Winners
    1. One Winner of the prize will be drawn at random (by a verifiable computer program) on 12th July 2025 (the “Draw Date”).
    2. The Prize Winner will be contacted directly by ScottishPower, who will arrange the Prize to the winner via email.
    3. ScottishPower must make available information that indicates that a valid draw took place. In order to comply with this, ScottishPower shall make available on request the first initial and surname of the winners. This information can be obtained by emailing cancerresearchuk@scottishpower.com.
    4. If a Prize Winner objects to their name being made available, they should email ScottishPower at cancerresearchuk@scottishpower.com with "Hotel Gift Prize Draw objection" in the subject line as soon as possible, within 14 days of the Draw Date. Please note that even if an objection is received, it is still a legal requirement to provide this information to the Advertising Standards Authority if so requested.
    5. ScottishPower may ask for proof of a Prize Winner's identity. If a Prize Winner is unable to provide adequate proof of identity, ScottishPower may withdraw the Prize and select another winner using the process described at Clause 6.1.
    6. ScottishPower will retain the appropriate evidence for audit and review purposes for a period of two years after the Hotel Gift Prize Draw.
  7. Claiming the Prize
    1. ScottishPower will contact the Prize Winner using the email address supplied by the participant when they entered. ScottishPower will continue to make reasonable efforts to contact the Prize Winner following the Draw Date. If it has not been possible to contact the Prize Winner within 14 days, the Prize will be deemed unclaimed and redrawn in accordance with the procedure set out in Clause 6.2 above.
    2. The prize must be claimed by the selected Prize Winner by 23:59 (GMT) on 26th July 2026, or it will be permanently withdrawn.
    3. Once the Prize Winner has claimed the Prize, ScottishPower will aim to provide the Prize to them within 14 days of the date on which the Prize is claimed by the Prize Winner. Where this is not possible, ScottishPower will liaise with the Prize Winner to ensure they receive their prize as soon as reasonably possible.
    4. ScottishPower does not accept any responsibility if a winner is unable to claim their Prize, nor responsibility for any loss of damage to the prize.
  8. Limitation of Liability
    • Insofar as permitted by law, ScottishPower will not in any circumstances be responsible or liable to compensate a Prize Winner or accept any liability for any loss, damage, disappointment, personal injury or death occurring as a result of claiming the Prize, notwithstanding where it has been caused directly by negligence on the part of ScottishPower. Nothing in this clause will affect the statutory rights of a party who seeks to rely on these Terms and Conditions.
  9. Data Protection and Publicity
    • In relation to the Hotel Gift Make Memories Prize Draw, ScottishPower will process Eligible Participant personal data for the purposes of the Prize Draw and to address any queries about it. The personal data of the Prize Winner chosen by the computerised system will be shared with ScottishPower, for the sole purpose of contacting the winner as outlined at Clause 6.2. More information on how ScottishPower manages your personal data, including how to exercise your data protection rights, is available in the Privacy Information Notice at www.scottishpower.co.uk/privacy.
    • ScottishPower will process personal data solely for the administration of the Prize Draw and for no other purpose unless consent is provided.
    • Data will be securely retained by ScottishPower for up to 60 days after the Prize Draw has ended and then be deleted, unless required for legal compliance.
  10. General
    1. If there is any reason to believe that any Eligible Participant has breached these Terms and Conditions, ScottishPower may, at ScottishPower’s sole discretion, reserve the right to exclude that Eligible Participant from participating in the Hotel Gift Make Memories Prize Draw or any other prize draw or competition.
    2. ScottishPower reserves the right to make changes to these Terms and Conditions, at ScottishPower’s sole discretion.
    3. ScottishPower reserves the right to void, suspend, cancel, or amend Hotel Gift Make Memories Prize Draw where it becomes necessary to do so with immediate effect and without liability to Eligible Participants.
    4. In the event of circumstances beyond the control of ScottishPower reserve the right to cancel or amend the Prize terms and conditions at any point.
    5. ScottishPower reserve the right to correct any technical errors in the administration of the Hotel Gift Make Memories Prize Draw (including, but not limited to, the failure of the verifiable computer program used to administer the Prize Draw) with immediate effect and without liability to Eligible Participants. If a technical error delays the Hotel Gift Make Memories Prize Draw being completed by the Draw Date, ScottishPower shall reschedule the relevant Prize Draw to a new date at their sole discretion. ScottishPower shall use reasonable endeavours to ensure that the new date is as close as possible to the date on which the Hotel Gift Prize Draw should have been completed.
    6. These Terms and Conditions shall be governed by the laws of Scotland, and ScottishPower and anyone who seeks to rely on these Terms and Conditions submits to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of Scotland.
    7. The Hotel Gift Making Memories Prize Draw Terms and Conditions are effective from 23rd March 2026.
